WritersMama Services:

Zoom Read and Critique plus Finding Literary Agents

NEW Zoom Read & Critique Workshop

When the Southern California Writers Conference’s FEB 2023 winter conference ends, I will launch a new ZOOM Read & Critique Workshop.

Why join a Read & Critique group?  In addition to receiving feedback on chapters you read and get critiqued weekly, membership delivers many unexpected gifts.

  • Writers learn how to hone craft by listening to other members stories
  • Your listening skills will sharpen
  • The mix of writers offer a mix of talent & experience

It’s not easy to learn how to critique a story using craft as your guide. Email me at marketingthemuse@gmail.com to get on the list. Depending on the number interested, we will hold sessions once or twice/week. A three month commitment (minimum) required.

NEW WritersMama Service: Finding Literary Agents w/ Writersmama’s Help

Are you searching for literary agents appropriate for your work-in-progress? It’s a daunting job. After receiving rejections or worse, no response at all, many writers give up.  I know how to do this, the process honed after many years of pitching. The learning curve is steep. It requires spending significant time searching  for appropriate agents. Exhausting ‘left brain’ work. Many writers prefer to stay in their ‘right  brain‘ creating story.

In my work as an editor as well as hanging out with fellow writers, I know that many don’t have the patience. Frustration builds easily. Rejection is hard to take. I do have the patience and skill set so if interested, email marketingthemuse@gmail.com . In the SUBJECT line please add Agent Search. Know that I will ask for information re: your project that includes synopsis, credits, etc. I also require a telephone or ZOOM interview before we get started.

The first package offered includes names of 10 literary agents I deem as decent fits. Not all agencies are the same. Some agent in name only. Their real revenue is collected from editing services parced out to their stable of indie editors. It’s a tough business so if you want help, consider  Finding the Right Literary Agent w/ Writersmama’s Help. Email marketingthemuse@gmail.com for more information.

Social Media sites:

In my recent Adios 2022 and Hola 2023 newsletter, I mentioned social media platforms suitable for long form writing. Here are two of my recently published essay-like pieces on Medium that relate to the writing life. Take a look around to determine if if this platform may be a good fit for your writing, too.

Remember what social media does for writers, it increases your voice by expanding your platform.
