Let’s Workshop Together…Apart

Opening 5 Pages:
WritersMama Read & Critique Workshop via ZOOM

Okay, so this sucks and we all know it but does that mean we have to stop our creative process? No! The newest darling in technology is ZOOM, an application that allows us to workshop without worry.
I decided to offer some workshops, the kind I offer in real time at my favorite writers’ conferences, and since money may be an issue for some, I’m offering the workshop free. If there is enough interest, I will host one weekly.
Writers of fiction and nonfiction are invited. The ‘read’ is confined to the first 5 pages and discussion will include platform building suggestions/strategies. Since we will likely be confined to our homes for some time to come, there really is no better time to write, revise, start and/or expand your writer’s platform. I’ve said it ad nauseam but your book will not sell itself and publishers, with rare exception, will not help. It’s simply bad business, not cost/effective for traditional publishers unless you, the writer, have a huge platform and/or are well known.
So why confine the R & C to the first five pages only?  Critiquers are listening for ‘hook-ability.’ If the writer can hook readers with the first five pages, chances are readers will turn to page six.

If interested in this free offering, email me at  I will confine the first group to six writers plus yours truly.

Stay safe writers and WRITE or EDIT or PLATFORM BUILD  … or a combo of all three.
